Verified, reliable, ready for publication

Verified, reliable, ready for publication

The verification of the sustainability report provides all stakeholders with an Assurance Statement issued by an accredited body, in accordance with ISO/IEC 17029 and the Get It Fair programme.

Verification is conducted on the sustainability report prepared by the organisation, with reference to internationally recognised reporting standards (e.g. GRI, ESRS/VSME, IFRS).

The verification process includes both on-site activities at the company's premises and off-site activities conducted at the verifier's location.

At the conclusion of the process, the accredited body issues an Assurance Statement to be included in the sustainability report prior to its publication and dissemination.

The company declares its level of conformity — either with reference to or in accordance with the selected reporting standards — and requests verification at a specified level of assurance (limited or reasonable).

Verification bodies

Verification bodies

The accredited verification body receives the sustainability report prepared by the company and appoints a qualified expert holding the GIF AP credential.

Verification of the sustainability report includes activities carried out partly on-site at the client's premises — in order to gain an understanding of the organisation, its processes and material topics — and partly through remote activities.

Verification is conducted in accordance with the criteria set out by the reporting standard adopted by the company.

The verification activities are performed in accordance with procedures that comply with the rules of the Get It Fair programme.

Verification may be conducted at either a limited or reasonable level of assurance.

At the conclusion of the process, the assessor prepares the verification report and submits it to the accredited body for review and approval.

Review and decision

Review and decision

The independent third-party body carries out the review of the verification report prepared by the Assessor and makes the final decision.

Upon completion of the process, the accredited body issues the Declaration of Conformity to the company, to be included in the final version of the sustainability report prior to its publication and dissemination.

Through a single Due Diligence process, a company can obtain both the validation of its ESG Rating — including all recognitions provided under the programme — and the Declaration of Conformity of the Sustainability Report.

This is made possible by the integration of reporting standard requirements into the GIF Framework, together with the sustainability report verification process.
