A governance framework safeguarded against conflicts of interest

.

The governance framework of the Get It Fair schemes and the GIF AP Credentialing System is grounded in the principles of autonomy and independence among all parties involved, with the aim of minimizing any risk of conflicts of interest.

This structure ensures an effective system of oversight for the proper and consistent implementation of the program.

The Code of Ethics sets out the principles and rules that all individuals holding an active role within the programs are required to formally endorse and comply with.

The stakeholder commitee

The stakeholder commitee

The programs are developed through the active participation and engagement of the key beneficiaries of conformity assessment activities.

To this end, a Stakeholder Committee has been established—an independent advisory body composed of relevant stakeholders at both national and international level, including institutions, industry and professional associations, foundations and non-profit organizations, universities, and major buyers.

Ongoing dialogue with the Committee and the incorporation of its perspectives are essential to the strategic development of the programs and to assessing their effectiveness in meeting stakeholder expectations.

Accreditation bodies: ensuring competence and impartiality

Accreditation bodies: ensuring competence and impartiality

Both programs have been assessed as compliant with the international standards ISO/IEC 17029 (Get It Fair) and ISO/IEC 17024 (GIF AP Credentialing System) by a national accreditation body that is a signatory to a global mutual recognition agreement.

Accreditation performs the essential function of verifying the competence, independence, and impartiality of validation bodies —in accordance with the applicable ISO standards and the rules of the programs — and of conducting ongoing annual surveillance of their activities.

Accredited bodies: the credibility of impartial attestations

Independent, third-party accredited bodies are the only entities authorized to carry out ESG rating assessment activities, verification of sustainability reports, and the certification of individuals.

These bodies operate under licence from the scheme owner and are accredited in accordance with ISO/IEC 17029 and the Get It Fair program (ESG rating and sustainability report verification) and/or ISO/IEC 17024 and the GIF AP Credentialing System (competence certification).

They issue attestations with full independence and are subject to periodic oversight by the accreditation body.

This mark identifies and distinguishes accredited bodies.

Two professional roles with certified competencies support the company before, during, and after the assessment process: the GIF Practitioner and the GIF Assessor.

While they operate at different stages, both work closely with the company in a partnership-based approach, with the shared objective of strengthening its competitiveness.

Ambassadors: the independent voice bringing the programs to the local level

An Ambassador is an independent, non-profit organization—such as an association or foundation—operating separately from the scheme owner and other program stakeholders. It operates within a specific country or geographic area with the objective of promoting and representing the two programs at local level.
